Trendy and Affordable “animal print” Clothes

What do you think about discussing one more 2008 summer trend today? Yes, I am talking about the animal prints. That’s not my favourite style, in fact, I don’t even have one animal print dress, but still it is a nice trend and some celebrities’ favourite. Jessica Alba, for example, is being occasionally spotted wearing animal print one shoulder tops or leopard blazers since 2007. Looks like this trend is going to stay for a while. That’s also proven from the 2008 spring collections of designers like Dolce & Gabbana, Proenza Schouler, Diane von Furstenberg, Oscar de la Renta and couturier Christian LaCroix. They presented all kind of zebra stripes, leopard spots, tiger, giraffe and cheetah prints on this year runways.

The animal prints can give a very sophisticated and sexy look like in Jessica’s Alba case. However if you review the pictures of Christina Aguilera, you will see some bad example of such an outfit. That’s why we have to be very careful when matching these kind of clothes. Number one rule is never overdress. Don’t aim for the too fashionable look as it may look comically at the end. One animal print dress per outfit is enough, the rest choose in neutral colors and designs. If you like the trend, but you are not sure how to match a whole look, start with some accessories. For example if you are wearing mostly black as working apparel, choosing leopard purse and shoes will make the outfit much more interesting and trendy. Or if you prefer white clothes, zebra accessories will work perfectly. Also using animal prints on scarfs, hats, muffs will get you into the latest fashion.

Animal prints are definitely the best choice when you want to look sexy and confident and they are the ultimate clubwear. However be careful – you don’t want to be asked “how much per hour” by some stranger in the bar. So be sexy, but also know your limits. Aim for the elegant, simple and sassy look and don’t overdress. My animal prints suggestions today are from the DH Styles online boutique and Charlotte Russe boutique.
