6. Gift card is a stupid present for somebody close – it’s like you are telling him: “I don’t know what you like, so here is that – buy whatever you want”. It’s a little offensive, don’t you think? But here is exactly what I got my husband for Christmas – a gift card for the Guitar Center. He wanted a guitar for so long, but just couldn’t get to spend $300, so finally I’ve decided to buy him one. But I don’t know anything about guitars, so I didn’t have a choice – gift card was my only option. And he was so happy – went to the store right away, picked up “the one” and now he is loving his guitar and playing every night. So actually gift card is a nice present, but it has to be for a specific store or something, not just a regular VISA gift card;

7. Accessories – don’t think men don’t use them! Just the opposite – they love scarves and hats and belts – I’ve bought these for my men many times. But they also love their phones, so you can get them some bad ass phone case or bluetooth – pretty much all kind of accessories work and that’s a cheap present too;

8. Does your boyfriend have a hobby? Ok, so make him feel special by getting something related to his favorite activity. For example mine likes to cook, so he’s been getting rice steamer, blender, sushi set and all this little stuff makes him very happy;

9. Sports fan? There you go – buy him a t-shirt of his favorite soccer team or the whole outfit of the football player he loves. And next time he is with the guys watching a game, he will get all dressy and when they ask him “hey where did you get that outfit from” he will say “my wife/girlfriend gave it to me” and they all will be so amazed that you actually share his passion for sports!

10. Do something crazy to surprise him – if you don’t like any of the above suggestions you can do something wild and totally blow his mind. Like buy a combo for two for one of those amusement parks and just get 100% adrenaline on Valentine’s Day. I know here in Dallas there is a great park called Zero Gravity and just for the holiday they have an incredible special - all five rides for 2 people for just $89. And I am sure all the different amusement parks will have some crazy offers around this time too. It’s going to be a day to remember!
